The Place of Herbal Tea in Gastronomy and Their Effects on Health

With the increasing awareness of health, the demand for herbal teas has risen, and their effects on health as well as their role in gastronomy have become more pronounced. Herbal teas have secured an important position in both traditional medicine and modern nutritional practices due to their antioxidant properties, regulatory effects on the digestive system, and immune-supporting characteristics. Furthermore, the growing interest in natural and unprocessed products has led to greater preference for herbal teas in both individual consumption and gastronomic presentations. In this context, herbal teas are considered not only as products associated with health but also as representatives of cultural identities and regional flavors.
The aim of this study is to examine the effects of herbal teas on gastronomy and health and to contribute to future research in this field. In the study, 13 different herbal teas were selected as the sample, and their health benefits and gastronomic characteristics were analyzed in detail. The selected herbal teas consist of plants that are widely used among the public and known for their medicinal properties. Document analysis was employed as the research method. The relevant data were collected between March 14, 2025, and April 19, 2025, and based on the findings, the benefits of herbal teas for various health conditions were identified.
